Chapter Meetings

By intersecting the IEEE Technical Societies under which they are organized with the sections that host them, chapter meetings provide an opportunity for members to learn from local experts.  While chapter business may be conducted, the highlight is usually a presentation about technology or applications of interest.  Chapter members usually receive email announcements, but to widen the input (and encourage prospects) most are open to non-members as well.

Chapters request section funds during the annual budgeting process to pay for pizza or other food. They are strongly encouraged to hold at least two meetings per year and to file the IEEE L-31 form so the section receives some incentive funding. There is no set meeting location – they may be held in libraries, space donated by companies or non-commercial entities, or in the section’s rented space at Teqcorner in McLean, VA. See the chapters page for a list of all local chapters, and visit the calendar for a list of upcoming meetings.
