Section Report:

IEEE NOVA continues its vitality steak hosting several high-caliber Society chapter, affinity group, and section offerings:

  • IEEE Electron Devices Society (EDS): IEEE Semiconductor Memory Day: History, Current Status, and Future of Semiconductor Memory hosted by Micron’s Dr. John Zhang, which included an amazing fab tour!
  • IEEE Northern Virginia Section: 2nd Hands-On Technical Workshop Series: Build an Internet of Things Weather Station, hosting 24 participants and led by Dr. Karl Berger.
  • IEEE Computer Society (IEEE-CS): Partner events focused on a talk entitled, Understanding Cyber Adversaries with ATT&CK, featuring Dr. Andy Applebaum which allows cyber practitioners to gain a better understanding of the post-exploit threat model; as well as a very timely discussion, led by Ms. DeeDee Smartt Lynch on the National Initiative for Cybersecurity Education (NICE) Cybersecurity Workforce Framework, critical roles, and relevant theory on utilizing the Belbin framework to maximize cyber team performance.
  • IEEE Women In Engineering (WIE): offered a virtual webinar focusing on how to take your first steps towards an infosec career, led by Ms. Tracy Z. Maleeff.
