Section Chair Message
Dear IEEE NoVA Members,
We have a very busy February with IEEE activities throughout the area. Please look at the upcoming events section for details. This year Engineers Week is February 19th – 25th. Join us as we celebrate with other Engineering societies of the National Capital Area, on Wednesday, February 22nd for the District of Columbia Council of Engineering and Architectural Societies (DCCEAS), Proclamation Luncheon, and the Awards Banquet on Saturday, February 25th, 2017.
Most important is the upcoming IEEE Officer and Volunteer training on Saturday, February 25th from 9:30 am to 4:00 pm at the Aviation Museum Facility in College Park Maryland. Please plan to be there as new IEEE processes will be explained with on hands training for the volunteers. Doug Holly is leading this effort and has enlisted the best IEEE expertise from Region 2 for this event.
Acknowledgements
I would like to express my warm congratulations to John Zhang and his mentor, Murty Polavarapu, for participating in the IEEE MGA’s Volunteer Leadership Training Program (VoLT) with the Eureka project. They were awarded an IEEE Certificate of Recognition for their exceptional work.
I would like to thank all the enthusiastic IEEE members who contacted me volunteering for IEEE NoVA Section offices. Thank you for all your dedication and all your time. I am positive it will be a mutually rewarding experience. 2
