A Call to Action: Uniting Tech Innovators, Policy Leaders & Businesses to Safeguard Digital Privacy

Virtual: https://events.vtools.ieee.org/m/414656

The presentation discusses the challenges in achieving digital privacy and the important role of technologists and policymakers while encouraging engagement from individuals and businesses. When talking about the complexity and the importance of digital privacy, there is currently a balancing act between privacy rights and technological advancements. As technologies in digital privacy, like encryption techniques, continue to evolve, it will be essential for policymakers, businesses, and individuals to work together ensuring that personal data is protected, and privacy rights are upheld in the digital age. In building trust, collaboration among technologists, policymakers and businesses must effectively address digital privacy challenges and protect consumer rights. To help bridge the digital privacy and communication gap between technologists and policymakers, as well as building trust among the public at large and businesses, this presentation will also include discussion on the IEEE Digital Privacy Model. The model is intended not to provide a prescription and implementation of solutions but serves as a vehicle for productive discussion on covering the broad and dynamic aspects of digital privacy issues. Metallization of glass core and through-glass vias

Virtual: https://events.vtools.ieee.org/m/412596

As glass is gaining a lot of attention and momentum as a state of the art semiconductor packaging technology, industry is looking to complete the supply chain to enable this promising technology. Several advances have been made in the field of metallizing glass core through vias, and in today’s presentation, we will discuss several options and MKS’ take on delivering a manufacturable solution. We will discuss options for seed layer deposition and highlight the MKS wet metallization technique that allows us to directly plate on glass. We will also go over several options for electrolytic plating of the bulk copper conductor for the through glass vias. Humanizing Security – AI is not Enough

Virtual: https://events.vtools.ieee.org/m/417497

IEEE DeVry University Online Student Branch & CompTIA student Club Presents “Humanizing Security – AI is not Enough.” By: Ken Fanger MBA, CMMC-RP Thursday, April 18th, 2024 (6:00 pm EST/5:00 pm CST) To Join: Click the following link: https://devry.engageli.com/devry/current/ipu-mxf-z5a/? AI is invading every aspect of our daily lives, and we depend on it for so much but in our journey to get the best AI we need to remember that it is people that are the core of all things we do. Ken dives into the expanding world of AI and cyber security and how it affects our human experience. SPEAKER BIO: Ken Fanger, President of On Technology Partners and a CMMC-RP (Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification Registered Practitioner), has over 30 years’ experience specializing in cyber security and information technology systems management and design, and project management. He is a proud member of the Ohio Cyber Reservist. Ken is a sought-after speaker around the country, and is author of the acclaimed book, RELAX: A Guide to True Cyber Security. Ken's current campaign is to "Humanize Security," a fundamental change toward a more holistic approach to cyber resilience and recovery. Ken is changing the narrative to put people first - both at the center of cyber-attacks AND recovery. By treating victims of cyber-attacks with dignity and respect, rather than shaming them for being attacked or hacked, people are more empowered and proactive, rather than fearful and reactive. By Humanizing Security in this way, and making it usable security, individuals, businesses, and organizations are able to build stronger, more effective defenses against cyber-attacks, hacks, and breaches. Currently focused on the manufacturing sector, Ken has also worked in the pharmaceutical, legal, medical, nonprofit, and government fields. His MBA in Operations Management enables him to understand work/process flow, while allowing him to develop strategies for an organization’s future. Ken is also one of fewer than 2,000 people to hold the designation of CMMC-RP, helping businesses with federal contracts to meet the new Department of Defense cybersecurity standards.
