Consultants’ Corner (IEEE-USA Free Livestream Event)

Virtual: https://events.vtools.ieee.org/m/312229

With the "Great Resignation" upon us many IEEE members are venturing out on their own into the gig economy. IEEE has a vast array of independent consultants who have already taken this same leap and they want to share their knowledge and experience with you. So have your questions ready and please join us for this one-hour jam session where three independent consultants will share their know-how and knowledge on how they have survived so long in the gig economy. Agenda: We have assembled a team of experienced consultants who will provide valuable insight and advice. There will be no formal presentation, just consultants talking about consulting. If you have any specific questions you would like to have addressed, please feel free to send them to Daryll Griffin ([email protected]) and they will be shared with the presenters prior to the event. IEEE R2 WIE Meeting and Talk:”Biomedical Unstructured Data Integration and Challenges.”

Virtual: https://events.vtools.ieee.org/m/315293

The IEEE R2 Women in Engineering (WIE) Affinity Goups meeting is on June 13, 2022. All (members and guests) are welcome! We would love for all of our 11 WIE Chairs stay engaged and share "what's new?" "While girls may be enthusiastic about a career in computer science, not many of them follow that dream. There are many reasons for that, one of them being the lack of inspiring female role models" One of those models is Dr. Priya Deshpande, who recently received her PhD in Computer Science from DePaul University, Chicago. Priya will share her career journey as a women in tech. Her talk, "Biomedical Unstructured Data Integration and Challenges" will discuss the importance of data-driven research in advancing biomedical knowledge and applications, such as more efficient healthcare delivery systems, improved clinical diagnostic processes, novel biomedical discoveries, and more. However, despite the huge amounts of clinical and biomedical data generated in hospitals, clinics and research institutes, datasets are often not shared. There is lack of data integration across information systems. A solution to integrating heterogenous unstructured biomedical data will be introduced. Speaker(s): Dr. Priya Deshpande, Agenda: Draft Agenda 7:00pm Call to order, Welcome and Roll Call (R2 WIE AG Chairs) 7:15pm Introduce Speaker / Presentation 7:35pm Brief Reports / Updates (All R2 WIE AG Chairs) 7:55pm Any new business 8:00pm Close Virtual: https://events.vtools.ieee.org/m/315293

The research and standardization for each future mobile service was initiated many years before its commercial launch. In 2019, 5G Networks began to be deployed commercially after almost ten years of planning. Similarly, the race for the 6G wireless networks that will be operational in 2030 has already started. To fulfill its potential in the upcoming decade, 6G will undoubtedly require an architectural orchestration based on the amalgamation of existing solutions and innovative technologies. Several standards bodies including 3GPP, ITU, IEEE, IETF, Next G Alliance among others and various research projects, open source consortiums, and forums around the world are working towards the evolution of next generation of network. The upcoming ACM/IEEE Next G Summit is the first one in the series aimed at research, development, and standardization of Next Generation networks (Next G). The summit will be held face-to-face at Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Lab, Laurel, Maryland on June 14. This one-day summit will provide a platform for the industry leaders, innovators, and researchers from the industry and academic community to collaborate and exchange ideas in this emerging technology that may help in driving the standards and rapid deployment of Next G. Co-sponsored by: IEEE Future Networks, JHU/APL Agenda: The ACM/IEEE Next G Summit will focus on the following topics. - Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning - Human Bond Communication Beyond 2050 (Knowledge Home) - Communication, Navigation, Sensing, and Services (CONASENSE) - Ultra-Massive Multiple Input Multiple Output Antennas (UM-MIMO) - Optical wireless communications (OWC) - Core Society 5.0 - Quantum Computing & Communications - Security as a Service - Zero Trust - Blockchain Orchestration - Deep Space Communication - Non Terrestrial Networks - Open RAN - Spectrum Sharing - Deployment - Digital Divide - Tera Hertz Communication - Autonomic Computing - Network Slicing - Mobile Edge Cloud - Experimental Testbeds - Assured Autonomy Room: 201-117, Bldg: Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory (JHU/APL), 11091 Johns Hopkins Road, Laurel, Maryland, United States, 20703, Virtual: https://events.vtools.ieee.org/m/315260
