IEEE Tech Talk: Energy Efficiency – Making It the First Fuel Instead of the Forgotten Fuel

Virtual: https://events.vtools.ieee.org/m/381668

Speaker: Bruce Rowse of Sustainability Education Academy The International Energy Agency states that Energy Efficiency is the First Fuel. However it's also often the forgotten fuel, and consequently, the road to net zero emissions is more costly and complicated than it should be. This talk defines energy efficiency (EE) and identifies why it’s often the forgotten fuel instead of the first fuel – and how, as the first fuel, it leads efforts to reduce carbon emissions. A process that shows how to make EE the first fuel, and can be applied to any entity that uses energy, is then presented. You’ll learn: - What businesses that are very successful in using EE to cut their carbon footprint are doing. - The opportunities this opens up for engineers. - How to begin to realize these opportunities. Bruce Rowse has 20+ years of experience in energy efficiency and runs the Sustainability Career Group on Linkedin.
