This course provides an overview of machine learning in the age of big data, cloud computing, and our data-saturated society. Business leaders will learn of the various types of machine learning, and how they can be used with a variety of enterprise data holdings and publicly available data to develop deeper insights in the business environment; understand basic computational intelligence paradigms, and how machine learning is integral to the field; learn the technical vocabulary and high-level concepts of machine learning in a manner that demystifies the topic and enables them to ask the right questions on the deployment of machine learning into business operations. Cybersecurity Education for Engineers

There is an ever-increasing need for cybersecurity education in the age of Internet of Things (IoT) and cyber-physical systems (CPS). Technologies of IoT and CPS are transforming engineering systems and critical infrastructure, such as energy grid, healthcare, and manufacturing, enabling connectivity and autonomous operations. Along with the enormous benefits of these disruptive technologies, there are alarming cybersecurity concerns. The vulnerabilities to cyberattacks and their negative impacts are becoming far greater and can cause devastating damage to physical assets, health as well as public safety concerns. Cybersecurity education is now needed for anyone working with technology, especially those incorporated in critical infrastructure. Hence, there is a growing need for cybersecurity education accessible to a broader audience of engineering students. In this talk, I will highlight the impacts of emerging technologies and artificial intelligence on cybersecurity. Then, I will present efforts aiming at filling the gap in cybersecurity education giving an example of cybersecurity course structure and certification accessible to students in different engineering majors. Sample interdisciplinary modules combining artificial intelligence and cybersecurity will be discussed. This Student Activities Conference (SAC) is sponsored by IEEE Region 2 & Region 1 and hosted by Marshall University's IEEE student branch. All college students from Regions 1 and 2 are welcome! Students who attend will get to participate in various competitions and technical events. The competitions include MicroMouse, SumoBot and Paper, with cash prizes available for all competitions. There are also opportunities for students to get hands on experience in Arduino, SumoBot, and MangDang DogBot workshops. We will also have a leadership panel discussion for students and a vtools reporting seminar for Student Branch councelors. There will also be a company/grad school expo for students to explore future opportunities!
