Machine Learning: Predictive Analysis for Business Decisions

Virtual: https://events.vtools.ieee.org/m/365740

This course provides an overview of machine learning in the age of big data, cloud computing, and our data-saturated society. Business leaders will learn of the various types of machine learning, and how they can be used with a variety of enterprise data holdings and publicly available data to develop deeper insights in the business environment; understand basic computational intelligence paradigms, and how machine learning is integral to the field; learn the technical vocabulary and high-level concepts of machine learning in a manner that demystifies the topic and enables them to ask the right questions on the deployment of machine learning into business operations. Speaker: Grant Scott, Assistant Professor in the Center for Geospatial Intelligence (CGI) and the Electrical Engineering and Computer Science Department, University of Missouri Co-sponsored by: Continuing Education Committee of the Educational Activities Board of the IEEE Virtual: https://events.vtools.ieee.org/m/365740

IEEE-USA’s 50th Anniversary Cruise

Bldg: Cruise Terminal #1, Port Canaveral , 9050 Discover Place, Port Canaveral, Florida, United States, 32920

Set Sail with IEEE-USA! Join us 16-20 October 2023 aboard Royal Caribbean’s Independence of the Seas for a 4-night cruise from sunny Orlando, Florida (Port Canaveral), to the tropical beauty of the Bahamas, as IEEE-USA celebrates 50 years of service to U.S. IEEE members. Our celebration cruise will feature exclusive events, food and live entertainment, nightly group dining, four informative, fast-paced and insightful “Lightning Sessions” on a variety of interesting topics, and scheduled meet-ups, but you’ll also have time to enjoy everything this remarkable ship has to offer. We’ll be cruising in style from Port Canaveral to stops in Nassau and CocoCay, before concluding our cruise back in Port Canaveral. IEEE MOVE Program Overview

Virtual: https://events.vtools.ieee.org/m/376749

Grayson Randall will provide an overview of the IEEE MOVE Program. Join us to learn about the mission and technology of the MOVE program. The IEEE MOVE volunteers respond to the hardest hit disaster areas to quickly provide the power and communications to the people impacted by a disaster. When not responding to disasters, MOVE provides public outreach and STEM education at schools, universities, IEEE events and public events. Co-sponsored by: IEEE-USA MOVE Program Virtual: https://events.vtools.ieee.org/m/376749

A Pedestrian’s Approach in Making Timely Critical Decisions with an Incomplete Information Set

Virtual: https://events.vtools.ieee.org/m/376973

A Pedestrian’s Approach in Making Timely Critical Decisions with an Incomplete Information Set When a missile is headed in a protected area, decisions must be made quickly. Engage now with estimates of (warhead, debris, and decoy) being low from the missile seeker and ground radar or wait to increase the decision estimates at a cost of not having enough time to reengage. The goal of this meeting is to produce a simple mathematical approach that can address this problem. Discussion Topics: Complete and Incomplete Information Set, Dempster-Shafer Mathematical theory representing of Information, Pignistic Probability Mappings, Probability Information Content (PIC) Speaker(s): John Sudano, PhD, Agenda: WEBINAR: 7:00 - 8:00 P.M. The Zoom Webinar link and password will be forwarded to all registered participants after Noon on the day of the meeting. Check your spam folder if you don't see the email. Webinar is open to all. PDH certificates are available and an evaluation form will be emailed to you after the meeting. PDH certificate are sent by IEEE USA 3-4 weeks after the meeting.
