TECHNICAL SEMINAR 1 OF 4 – Regional Transmission Operations Topics

The IEEE-KC PES/IAS Joint Chapter is pleased to announce its Technical Seminar Series for Spring 2024! This year we will be returning to an in-person hybrid format, although we will also offer a virtual option. Please see below for location details. Regional Transmission Operations Topics This evening’s seminar will cover various topics related to the current state of energy markets and how they are changing to meet the needs of evolving power systems. We will first explore the impacts of newer variable energy resources and changing demand patterns and what challenges they present for energy markets. We will then cover the generation interconnection process from the transmission owner’s perspective, covering the studies and agreements that must take place in order to bring new resources into the energy market.
