Beginner’s PCB Design Workshop with KiCad: Part 1
April 11 @ 15:45 - 17:00
Join us for the first installment of our hands-on workshop series, where you’ll learn to design your own PCBs, similar to those featured in our popular IEEE soldering workshops (including designs like the Piano, Snowflake, Jack-o-Lantern, Flower, and Heart). Open to all students across majors, this introductory session will guide you through the essentials: – Software Setup: Installing KiCad on your laptop. – Tool Exploration: A comprehensive overview of KiCad’s features and capabilities. – Your First PCB: Creating a basic yet functional Printed Circuit Board (PCB) design. Following this, our second workshop will dive into more complex PCB designs, with the exciting opportunity to have your creation printed by IEEE. This experience is not only a fantastic way to enhance your resume but also equips you with a critical skill set for engineering projects, including your Capstone. What to Bring: Your laptop, equipped with a willingness to learn and create. Don’t miss this chance to elevate your technical skills and prepare for future projects with KiCad.
