ACCIDENTAL CONSULTANT: A JOURNEY

Traditionally, some professionals turn into consulting in their maturity and advanced age, after 30 to 40 years of working in conventional engineering roles. Many are already experts in their fields and wish to share their knowledge for extra retirement income. But engineering consultancy can start at a younger age if the basic tenets of qualifications and experience are met. This presentation discusses the basic requirements and challenges of engineering consultancy and is targeted for students or younger professionals at the beginning of their career. The contents are meant to help the target audience to consider consulting as a possible venue compared with traditional full-time employment or entrepreneurial ventures.
