IEEE Event at the Perry Nuclear Power Plant

July 27 @ 15:00 - 19:00

IEEE plays an important part in the design and license requirements for the Perry Nuclear Power Plant, and The Perry Nuclear Plant is an important generator for generating clean and reliable energy on the nation’s electric grid. This event will include a small tour of equipment and buildings observable from outside the security fences as well as a presentation discussing the plant and its relationship with IEEE. It will end with a demonstration of the Control Room Simulator, which is the 1:1 mock-up of the actual plant’s Control Room, used by the plant operators for training and proficiency. A survey link is included below so that the presentation can be tailored to attendee interests. The event is limited to 20 participants and pre-registration is required. Logistics: The plant’s main gate is at the corner of Center Road and Parmly Road. Follow the road onto the site past the canopy structure immediately on the left. Continue down the road to the first parking lot on the left. The signs will indicate it is the training building. Come in the front door and we will muster in the lobby while everyone arrives. See the attached image for navigating onsite.
