IEEE Women in Engineering (WIE)
IEEE WIE was officially formed in 1994 and is a committee of the IEEE Board of Directors. As of 1 January 2012, WIE became a committee of the IEEE Member and Geographic Activities Board (MGAB). IEEE WIE is devoted to promoting the advancement of women in the IEEE fields of interest as well as encouraging youth to pursue careers in science and engineering.
- Mission: To connect, support, and inspire women and girls worldwide, and facilitate their recruitment and retention in STEM fields, fostering technological innovation and excellence for the benefit of humanity.
- Vision: To be globally recognized for its contributions to improving diversity, equity, and inclusion in STEM fields. Our goal is to facilitate the recruitment and retention of women in technical disciplines globally. We envision a vibrant community of IEEE women and men collectively using their diverse talents to innovate for the benefit of humanity.
