Clean Room Tour: CMU Nanotechnology Laboratory

The Claire and John Bertucci Nanotechnology Laboratory is a premier research facility located at Carnegie Mellon University. The “Nanofab” houses more than 100 processing and characterization tools maintained by highly qualified technical staff members and is responsible for more than $10M/year in cutting-edge research. The tour will include a walkthrough of the 8,500 sqft. Class 10/100 cleanroom which houses state-of-the-art controls, 19 wet chemistry decks and tools for lithography, film deposition, etching, metrology, annealing, and more. Dinner will be provided. ORGANIZERS: IEEE Nanotechnology Council PARKING: Free parking is availble in the Morewood Gardens Parking Lot: 4902 Forbes Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15213 Directions: The Nanotechnology Laboratory is located in the C level of Hammerschlag Hall. For easiest entrance follow the linked map and enter through the glass doors on the right side of the building (see picture). IMPORTANT: NO OPEN TOE SHOES, SANDALS, HIGH HEELS, OR LARGE BOOTS. NO FUZZY OR DUSTY CLOTHING. PPE including a gown, shoe covers, hood, gloves, and safety glasses will be provided. This facility is highly sensitive to particulates so please avoid clothing that may produce particles. If you are an IEEE member, you must enter your membership number. Each IEEE Member may bring up to one non-member. All attendees must be at least 18 years old.
