November 10, 2020 @ 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm

A Canadian Rail Adventure in 1974

In October 1974 Ken rode The Canadian, from Montreal to Vancouver, on CP Rail.  While planning to stop over in Banff, he secured a locomotive cab ride over Kicking Horse Pass, through the spiral tunnels, spent the night with the crew, and returned to Banff the next day.  While in Vancouver, he took a ferry to Vancouver Island and rode the Esquimalt and Nanaimo RR.  Returning to Vancouver, Ken rode the Super Continental to Toronto on Canadian National, then the Toronto, Hamilton, & Buffalo, and Amtrak, to DC.

This presentation is a digitized set of slides he took on that trip along with stories about this once-in-a-lifetime trip on many trains that no longer exist.
