IEEE USA held an IEEE WIE (Women in Engineering) Summit USA East Nov 6-8, 2015, in Philadelphia, PA. The IEEE Dayton Section and Wright State University sponsored attendance for Rachael Kneice, Monica Sam, and Emma Sum, electrical engineering and computer science students at Wright State University, Fairborn OH. The summit had three tracks: Inspiration and Empowerment; Perspectives; and STEM Outreach. The speakers encouraged members to engineer ways to close the gender gap. Attendees had an opportunity to network with professionals and fellow students between the tracks, Saturday included a Career Fair, and a quick tour of Philadelphia followed the conference. Two IEEE Dayton Section officers served on the Summit organizing committee and attended the conference.
