IEEE Dayton STEM Education Workshop, Monday, July 15, 2024 at 1-5PM

The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Dayton Section is organizing a STEM Education Workshop for high school STEM teachers and Course Curriculum Supervisors on Monday, July 15, 2024 from 1-5PM. The workshop will run in parallel with other sessions at the National Aerospace and Electronics Conference (NAECON) and will be held at the Holiday Inn, Fairborn, Ohio. The workshop participants will be compensated for their expenses for attending this workshop. The participants will also earn professional development hours.

Please contact Dr. Ahmad Islam (aeislam@ieee.org) for reserving a spot in this workshop and for additional information. The attendees will use the attached form to obtain reimbursement for their expenses.

The event will include the following activities:

  • Inform attendees about the benefits of being an IEEE member and encourage them to make high school students excited about being an IEEE member after they graduate from high school and become a college freshman.
  • Inform attendees on the introduction and recent advancement in different STEM topics.

Topic 1: Introduction to IEEE and its benefits           1:00-1:30 PM

Topic 2: Microelectronics and Microfabrication         1:30-2:15 PM

Speakers: Prof. Guru Subramanyam, University of Dayton; Dr. Ahmad Islam, Air Force Research Laboratory

Topic 3: Packaging and Printed Electronics              2:15-3:00 PM

Speaker: Prof. Ahsan Mian, Wright State University

Break:  30 minutes

Topic 4: Design Tools and Hardware Security          3:30-4:15 PM
