Elevators – Complex Electrical System in Today’s World
Elevators – Complex Electrical System in Today’s World
The IEEE Vehicular Technology Society (VTS) Philadelphia Chapter and the IEEE Philadelphia Section are holding a joint meeting. The topic is Elevators - Complex Electrical System in Today’s World. Mr. Joseph F. Maida, P.E., is our guest speaker. Elevators have existed for over two thousand years. The original elevators were complex, for their time, and were driven by humans or animals. Today’s elevators are powered by electricity and driven by motors and are likely the most complex equipment within the infrastructure of buildings. This course will review the history of elevators, the codes and standards that apply to elevators, elevator types and their components, and the complexity of the electrical power and control systems that make them function safely Attendees may apply for 1.0 PDH upon completion of lecture. Please register at (https://meetings.vtools.ieee.org/m/341984) Certificates will be provided through the IEEE Certificates Program, accepted in all states. PDHs are provided in accordance with the IEEE Philadelphia Section registration requirements. Do NOT send payments to Brandon Swartley - see the vTools registration and payment options. Evaluation forms will be completed manually and sent to the IEEE Philadelphia Section. Co-sponsored by: IEEE Philadelphia Section Speaker(s): Mr. Joseph F. Maida, Agenda: Introduction Presentation Questions Virtual: https://events.vtools.ieee.org/m/342665
