Capstone Award

Susquehanna Section Annual Capstone Award

In 2021 the IEEE Susquehanna Section established the annual Capstone award to recognize the best undergraduate Capstone project in the Section’s geographic area. Local universities and colleges, who require their undergraduate students to participate in Capstone project activities as a requirement to receive a degree, will submit in their judgement the best Capstone project which represents their school to the IEEE Susquehanna Section. The Section will judge each project and will present the Section Capstone award to the winning contributors. A $750 award will be given the best project and shared with all project contributors and each contributor will receive an IEEE certificate of recognition.

2021 IEEE Susquehanna Section Regional Capstone Winners:

The following local university and college campuses participated in the first IEEE Susquehanna Section Regional Capstone competition – Penn State University, Messiah University, Shippensburg University, Elizabethtown College and York College.  Each school submitted their best Capstone project making the selection of the best Regional project a challenging task for the judging panel of Senior Section members not affiliated with any of the participating schools.  The judging panel selected the Capstone project from Elizabethtown College entitled “Automated Hydroponic System”.  A cash award of $500 was presented to the winning team of senior students.

Elizabethtown College was also presented with the following plaque for having submitted the winning project.
