September 13 2016 Susquehanna Section Dinner/Presentation: 3D Printing – Technology and Applications

September 13, 2016 @ 18:30 - 21:00

3D Printing – Technology and Applications

Abstract

In-house 3D Printing is rapidly becoming a critical component in various Engineering and Manufacturing related workflow processes within a large range of industries.  In addition, accelerated evolution of 3D Printing has taken place in recent years due to innovations in additive technologies. This has resulted in heavy adoption of 3D Printing into manufacturing where production processes have been streamlined by automating the creation of manufacturing tools as well as end-use parts.

Our company, Cimquest, supports over 400 companies throughout the Mid-Atlantic Region utilizing Stratasys 3D Printers, and plays an integral role in helping nurture successful implementations of the technology.  Possessing a broad knowledge of conventional manufacturing processes such as CNC Machining, robotics programming, manufacturing training, etc., Cimquest works to help raise awareness to the benefits of 3D Printing and how the technology complements CNC and other manufacturing processes, in addition to educating the market on where 3D Printing fits into the much broader portfolio of Advanced Manufacturing technologies.

The primary focus of the presentation will describe how 3D Printing/Additive Manufacturing fits generally into the bigger picture of manufacturing, and, how the technology is specifically utilized for various applications within the electronics industry.
