Recap: High Power Density Converter Design Seminar
On November 12, 2014, at the University of Dayton Research Institute’s River Campus, PEAL members and guests were treated to two interesting talks. The first was from Mr. Jacob Dubie from Cedarville University, who presented a detailed technical overview of Cedarville’s electric boat design, which has been successful in both domestic and international competitions. The featured speaker for the evening was Dr. Fang Luo, the Director of the Industry Consortium for the Center for High Performance Power Electronics (CHPPE) in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the Ohio State University. After an overview of CHPPE and the Industry Consortium, Dr. Luo’s talk focused on his research into high power density EMI filter design, integration of filter components, and module packaging and integration for wide-band-gap, power switching devices.
